It is always a good habit to do a little research on the affiliate program that you want to join as it will be the deciding point of what you are going to achieve at the later part of the business. 1. Is the affiliate program free to join?

2. When would they issue your commission cheque?

3. What is the conversion of the sales letter?

Once you have decided to promote one of the affiliate products, you will have to know the conversion ratio of the sales letter. For example, if 100 people visit the website and only 2 people purchase the product, you will have a 2% conversion. 4. How long has the affiliate program been in the market place?

This is important as you would want to make sure that you are doing business with a credible company. This will ensure that the company will be able to pay you the commission that you have earned.
