Affiliate Marketing: 5 Questions That You Must Ask Yourself Before Joining Any Affiliate Program

Choosing a good affiliate program is a important part of a successful affiliate marketing business model. It is always a good habit to do a little research on the affiliate program that you want to join as it will be the deciding point of what you are going to achieve at the later part of the business. The 5 questions are:

1. Is the affiliate program free to join?

There are many free affiliate programs that are available on the internet. You can still find good affiliate programs that have good products and they are free to join.

2. When would they issue your commission cheque?

You would want to find out how often they pay the affiliate their commissions and the mode of payment that the merchant use to pay the affiliates. Some affiliate program will pay their affiliate through cheque, PayPal, direct bank deposit etc

3. What is the conversion of the sales letter?

Once you have decided to promote one of the affiliate products, you will have to know the conversion ratio of the sales letter. For example, if 100 people visit the website and only 2 people purchase the product, you will have a 2% conversion. It is better to promote affiliate product that have a better converting sales letter.

4. How long has the affiliate program been in the market place?

This is important as you would want to make sure that you are doing business with a credible company. This will ensure that the company will be able to pay you the commission that you have earned. The easiest way is to join affiliate programs where most of the major marketers are joining. One very good example is the Clickbank Company where Internet Marketing expert like Ewen Chia has been using it to handle most of his affiliate program.

5. What is the amount of commissions that you earn for every sale that you made?

This simply means that amount of commission that you will earn for every sale. For example if you have sold a product for $100 and you earn $60 in commissions, you will earn 60% commission for every sale being made. You will want to join affiliate program that pays their affiliates generously. If you are promoting information products, you should choose affiliate programs that will give you at least 50% in commission.

These are the 5 questions that you should always ask yourself before joining affiliate program. Always ask yourself questions and do a little research as it will ensures that you choose a good affiliate program which is a very important part of having a successful affiliate marketing business.
