Work From Home Online Businesses Spotting The Scams
Spotting a Scam
As I m sure you re aware of by now, there are a multitude of work from home businesses being offered online. Unfortunately, the vast majority are nothing more than scams to get your money. On top of that, it s difficult, if not impossible to tell on the surface who is legit and who just wants to take your wallet for a ride.
Unfortunately, most people run into several scams before they find sites where they can safely learn how to operate a work from home business online.
There are some easy ways to avoid these scams. The first is to talk with someone. The legit work from home business is usually built around a system that you can start yourself. The best are the ones where they offer assistance in getting you setup and started. A good test is, see if you can actually contact a real person. Try contacting the person who sends you a thanks for visiting my website email.
If you cannot contact them directly, and don t receive a response within a couple days, then the program may be a drop ship, turnkey business opportunity, or another program with a very low success rate. The program may even be an outright scam. Pay your couple of hundred bucks and all you end up with are some e-books that you could have purchased on eBay for pennies. If you even get that!
The Get Rich Quick Promise
If the program promises wealth without work or education, it is a scam. There is currently no program on the web that you can just set up and earn money. You must be willing to put some time and effort into any opportunity in order to give it a chance to work. Some legitimate work from home businesses actually offer training along with live support. You won t find many of these, as they are considered the golden fleece of online businesses. But they are out there. More than likely though, they won t come looking for you. It will be the other way around.
Education a Must
As I mentioned before, a legitimate program will have forums, training archives, information on how to get started, and if you re lucky, live support to answer any and all questions. In fact, you should see the program show up on multiple sites, blogs, and talked about in forums. It will not be a secret. There will be much talk on the web about the opportunities and the successes it has offered many people.
What are you Marketing
Is there a real market for your product? In some cases, there isn t even a real product involved, but more of an idea that s being marketed. Watch out for that one. I would much prefer to see an actual product. So, they offer a real product. Is it a product that people want or need? Here s a test. Would you buy it? Or at least do you see a real value in its use? You ll find it hard to stay motivated if you yourself don t believe in the product that your marketing.
Research the Business
When researching, pay close attention to the advertisements. A blog post written by someone who is making a living from the business may be legitimate. If people just publish information saying that you can make money if you buy their product, but they don t indicate anywhere on the site that they are involved in it them self, then think twice about signing up for that work from home business. Also check out any negative postings about the business or products. Just Google the business name along with the word scam or rip-off and see what comes up. If there are a bunch of unhappy people, walk the other way. The bottom line do your research and ask questions. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
