There are many benefits to owning an online retail store that gives us resource access to wholesale merchandise at the click of the mouse. Even owning multiple online retail stores can provide multiple resources at any given time. Most are easy to run and free memberships are the only requirement to get started in business.

With many online retail stores on the internet how do we showcase ours from all of the rest? How do we separate ours from the others?

Most work at home business opportunities offer the work at home entrepreneur their own web site, plus they process customer orders as well as doing all of the drop-shipping, allowing a new business to get off to a good start. If we have been put in business with a company that sets our wholesale prices we can t always control that. We can control, in most cases, our retail prices though. This is where we have to compete buy thinking about moving our merchandise instead of waiting for what we think we deserve for a particular item. No sales, means no sales. Volume is better than pricing too high.

Offline Promotion - This may be the most overlooked method of promotion for an online retail store. After setting your online retail store prices to be competitive with the internet as well as offline retail stores. And we can on most items when we think about merchandise movement instead of how much we want for a particular item. Printing flyers and distributing them in your area can be a most effective, as well as least expensive way to bring in customer sales to your online retail store. Wait, before you hang up and say I just want to work online. Flyer is not an ugly word.

After you have set up your prices to be competitive and started thinking about merchandise movement, you have set up the foundation for your business. Never underestimate the power of offline promotion. Think about with all of the internet technology in shopping, and still the retail giants use paper promotion as a way to drive traffic to their stores. They reach a huge part of society that does not spend a lot of time on the computer. Do you still receive direct mail from retail merchants? Of course. They know that it works. It works because they isolate themselves from all of the other retail competition. Giving us a peek as to what they have to offer without getting elbowed.

Working at home in the online retail store business does not mean we have to spend a lot of money on promotion. Nor does it mean that we have to mull around with all of the other online retail stores hoping for a sale. Once we begin to spread word to those consumers that are casual internet users, we then give them a reason to check us out at their convenience. Providing we have laid the competitive pricing ground in our online retail store. We have just left the overcrowded bus and allowed our store to get noticed. Sometimes the best customers are in our own backyard, and not on the other side of the world. Using inexpensive flyers can be distributed at any time and anywhere to generate traffic to your online retail store.
